The perennial flooding in Tafo Zongo and its environs in the Ashanti Region will soon be a thing of the past following a pledge by Dr. Mustapha Abdul-Hamid, Minister for Inner-Cities and Zongo Development.
The Minister made a public commitment to tackle the problem when he visited the Chief of Tafo Zongo, Alhaji Yusif Chibsah at his palace as part of his Ashanti Regional Tour.
Dr Mustapha said the construction of a drainage system in the area has become necessary following perennial flooding, and disclosed that technical officers of the Ministry have already taken the measurements and completed the costing for the project.
Dr. Abdul- Hamid further revealed that the project will be part of his Ministry’s budget estimate for 2019.
