“We surely belong to Allah and to Him, we shall return”

I have been notified of the passing away of Sheikh Muhammad Rashad Imam Sulaiman widely called, Mallam Rashad Yelwa – Kumasi Zango, an impressive Islamic scholar by reason of age and with great trait of ikhlas (Genuine Intention).

Mallam has been a well-wisher, he sometime ago summoned all his students and recited the entire Quran in my favor voluntarily, one of his students approached him to bring this worthy course to my attention he declined and told him he did it for Allah’s sake. I’m grateful for this invaluable gesture.

It is significant to note that, Mallam Rashad is the grandson of the first Ashanti regional chief Imam by name Imam Sulaiman popularly known as (Liman Sileh).

May Allah elevate your station and may your enviable service and legacy intercede for your behalf come the day of resurrection.

A scholar who did not come for this world but service to Allah and mankind, a life well lived and worthy of emulation.
