Ghana Hajj Board Conducts 2024 Hajj Orientation in Tamale

The Ghana Hajj Board commenced its nationwide orientation programmes for the upcoming Hajj 2024 pilgrimage with a session held at the WAEC Hall in Tamale.
Speaking at the event, the Executive Secretary, Alhaji Farouk Hamza, assured prospective pilgrims of a “stress-free Hajj” experience.
Dr. Zakaria Seidu, Head of the medical team, briefed participants on health preparedness measures. He assured them that all logistics and personnel were in place to provide 24/7 medical support to Ghanaian pilgrims while in Saudi Arabia.
The orientation caravan will proceed to Walewale and Bolgatanga today, followed by Wa tomorrow, Kumasi on Wednesday, and Accra on Thursday. This allows the Hajj Board to reach out to intending pilgrims across Ghana’s regions.
The statement released by the Hajj Board concluded with the prayer, “May Allah count us among the pilgrims of Hajj 2024.”
The Hajj is one of the five pillars of Islam, requiring able-bodied Muslims to perform the pilgrimage to Mecca at least once in their lifetime if financially capable. Last year, over 6,000 Ghanaian Muslims took part after a two-year interruption due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
With the orientation sessions, the Ghana Hajj Board aims to prepare prospective pilgrims adequately for the spiritual journey and ensure all necessary arrangements are in place for a smooth and fulfilling Hajj experience in 2024.
