Christian businessman donates 185,000 Cedis for reconstruction of Agogo central mosque

The Chief Executive Officer of Salt Media Ghana Charles Ohene Kwame Frempong has donated an amount of 185,000 Ghana Cedis towards the reconstruction of the central of Agogo, in the Ashanti Region.

Mr Kwame Frempong, a Christian, made the donation at a ceremony in Agogo this morning attended by the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu.

Presenting the cheque to the Agogo Muslim Community through the National Chief Imam, Mr. Osei described his remarkable gesture is a religious obligation.

The Agogo Central Mosque is to be expanded and reconstructed to a one story building at a cost of 220,000 Cedis to be fully funded by the businessmen.

The first payment of 185,000 Cedis, the businessman explained, is to allow work to start immediately, and he promised to pay the rest as construction progresses.

The contractor undertaking the project promised to complete the work in 4 months.

The National Chief Imam commended the businessman for his gesture, and also prayed for him, the Agogo community and the entire nation.
