Mohammed Alhassan sees first Hearts red in Aduana stalemate

Accra Hearts of Oak defender Mohammed Alhassan on Sunday received his first red card in Hearts of Oak jersey in their 1-1 draw game with Aduana Stars at the Accra Sports stadium.

The center back was given the marching orders after he was adjudged to have brought Aduana attacker Bright Agyei down in the 78th minute.

It is  the first time the former WAFA Captain had received a red card since joining the rainbow club, and it came at a time they needed him most as Aduana kept hitting for an equaliser.

The 29-year-old  was frustrated when he took a yellow card earlier from which he was seen exchanging words with the centre referee.

With the Phobians leading by a 9th minute goals from Kordzi, they looked like grabbing their first win in 3 league matches but they failed to hold on to it as Aduana got the equaliser in the late minute of the game.

Mohammed  received  his  second  yellow,  followed by the  red card in what some pundits  believe  it was too soft to be a penalty.

Mohammed joined Hearts of Oak in 2019 and has since cemented his position, becoming the most consistent player under Coach Samuel Boadu.

He thus will not be available for the Phobians as they travel to Obuasi in their Matchday 4 league encounter.
