Zak Rahman: Ayawaso East Parliamentary hopeful seeks elders’ backing ahead of NPP Primary on December 2nd

As he intensifies campaign for victory

Aspiring parliamentarian Honourable Zak Rahman has held talks this week with key party leaders and elders in the Ayawaso East constituency to formally seek their endorsement of his campaign ahead of the NPP’s critical primaries on December 2nd.

The courtesy visit held at the constituency office in Nima on Tuesday brought the prospective candidate face-to-face with constituency executives, council of elders, patrons, and other influential party figures as Hon. Zak outlined his vision and strategy for capturing the competitive seat from the opposition NDC in 2024.

In his address, the hopeful MP underscored plans to bring development, improve sanitation and drainage, combat crime, and boost socio-economic growth through self-help initiatives if elected to parliament. He also highlighted previous work providing resources and building NPP support in the constituency.

“I come before you with deep respect to request your invaluable support so together we can deliver progress for Ayawaso East,” Hon. Zak told the gathered local party hierarchy.

“I have the vision, determination, and grassroots organisation to return Ayawaso East to NPP control.

“Give me the chance to champion our community as your next Member of Parliament.”

He will face fellow party member Baba Ali in the December 2nd primary ahead of general elections.

Constituency leaders voiced their appreciation and will consider endorsements as the critical intraparty contest fast approaches. The NPP has never won parliamentary seat in the Ayawaso East but Honourable Zak looks poised to break the jinx.

Some members of the executives echoed praise for Hon. Zak’s thoughtfulness in seeking their blessing ahead of the high-stakes December primary battle.

“We appreciate Honourable Rahman for coming before us with utmost respect to request our support,” said the constituency chairman.

“This shows Zak respects our role and input, and we wish him well in this tight contest.”
