The Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has resumed his 2019 nation-wide Ramadan tour with a visit to the Central Region on Friday.
The Vice President started the 2019 Ramadan Tour last weekend in the newly created Oti Region, before visiting the Volta and Eastern Region during the first phase of the tour.

The second phase, which started yesterday (Friday), took the Vice President to communities in the Central Region. He started the visits with a courtesy call on the Chiefs and People of Agona Nyakrom Traditional Area in the Agona West Municipality.

After the courtesy call on the traditional rulers, Dr. Bawumia and his team joined the Muslim Ummah in Awutu Bawjiase for Friday congregational prayers (Jummah).
After the Jummah prayers, the Vice President continued with the tour by visiting the Zongo Communities of Agona Nyakrom and Gomoa Mangoase for Asr and Maghreb prayers respectively.

Throughout the visits, Dr. Bawumia urged fellow Muslims in the Central Region to continue to live in harmony and unite to accelerate development for the region.
“Ghana is the only country we have and we must protect the peace we enjoy,” Dr. Bawumia stressed throughout the visit.

The Vice President also enjoined his fellow Muslims to pray for the government and the people of Ghana during the holy month of Ramadan.
The nationwide Ramadan tour affords Dr. Bawumia a unique opportunity to connect with his fellow Muslims and pray with them during the holy Muslim month of Ramadan.
The Vice President and his team will continue with the tour this weekend in the Western and Western North Regions respectively
