Skipper Fatawu Mohammed and nine other Zongo brothers named in Hearts of Oak squad to face WAC of Morocco

Skipper Fatawu Mohammed and nine of his Zongo compatriots have been named in Hearts of Oak’s 31 man squad to face Moroccan side  Wydad Athletic Club of Morocco in the first leg of the CAF Champions League preliminary contest.

The right back lead the pac for the Phobians who are facing a tough task at the Accra Sports Stadium as they play host to the 2017 CAF Champions League winners.

Mohammed and his fellow Zongo brothers such as Mohammed Alhassan, Nuru Sulley, Salifu Ibrahim, Larry Sumaila, Salim Adam, Anwar Abdul Basit, Razak Ali, Suraj Seidu and Issah Abubakar Issifu are fully fit and available for selection.

The skipper  and his deputy Mohammed Alhassan together with Salifu Ibrahim are regular starters for the team but youngster Salim Adam could grab a start in Sunday’s game following his exploit in the Hearts first clash against CI Kamsar of Guinea.

He scored the team’s second goal in their 2-0 win over the Guineans, a feat that has brought them to the next stage of the competition of which they have the WAC to deal with.

The 10 Zongo brothers have a huge role to play in the squad as the Phobians seek qualification to the money zone of the 2021/22 CAF champions League for the first in 15 years.
