Mohammed Polo charges Hearts of Oak players to prove their quality against WAC

Accra Hearts of Oak legend Mohammed Polo has charged the players of the club to exhibt quality in their Champions League clash against Moroccan side Wydad Athletic Club (WAC) on Sunday.

The former player and Coach of the rainbow club is very optimistic the team is going to prevail with a positive outcome on Sunday against two time African Champions.

The Phobians are playing host to WAC in the first leg of the second preliminary stage and Polo who was part of the team’s two times finalist of  1977 and 1979, says it’s time for the current squad to prove their mettle.

Speaking on Friday in an interview with Happy FM in Accra, the ‘Dribbling Magician’ edged Coach Samuel Boadu and his players to showcase their quality to the world like they did sometime ago and believe confidently they are going grind a positive results come Sunday. He said;

“It is time for the players to show the quality they are made of,” he said.

“We have shown our quality and it is time for them to show the quality they are made off. We have passed the baton to them to show. They have to prove a point and play above themselves.”

“I am hopeful if they believe in what they have and the technical men push them to perform we will see something good and the results will be positive as well.”

“The game will be difficult but the players must be up to the task and prove their quality.”

The ‘Phobians’ will welcome the 2017 champions at the Ohene Gyan Stadium over the weekend in the second and final preliminary round of the CAF Champions League.

That is after they inflicted a resounding 2-0 victory over CI Kamsar from Guinea months ago thanks to goals from Kofi Kordzi and new arrival Salim Adams.
