Renowned Ghanaian Islamic scholar Sheikh Yahyal Amin has drawn the curtains on his annual Ramadan Tafsir (Quranic lectures) with a special Iftar (breaking of fast) celebration held on Sunday, April 7th.
The event, which took place in the Shukura neighbourhood of Accra, saw the Vice President join Imams, Zongo Chiefs, and the larger Muslim community to mark the conclusion of the holy month’s religious programming.
In his remarks, the Vice President praised Sheikh Yahyal Amin’s profound contributions during the Ramadan Tafsir sessions, highlighting the scholar’s emphasis on the “power of seeking knowledge, especially in the present technological and ever-changing world.”
“Prayers were also said for loved ones, the nation’s leadership, and our country, Ghana,” the Vice President added, underscoring the spiritual significance of the gathering.”

The annual Ramadan Tafsir sessions led by Sheikh Yahyal Amin have become a cherished tradition among Ghana’s Muslim communities in Accra, providing a platform for religious education, spiritual reflection, and community bonding during the holy month.
As Ramadan moves towards its end, many mosques across Ghana are wrapping up their Tafsir programmes in preparation for the upcoming Eid ul Fitr celebrations, the joyous festival that marks the end of the fasting period.

The conclusion of this year’s Tafsir with the well-attended Iftar celebration in Shukura marked the fitting culmination of a meaningful month of devotion, learning, and fellowship for the faithful in Ghana.
