Ramadan 2024: Ghana National Fire Service hosts Iftar

In a remarkable display of religious harmony and inclusivity, the Ghana National Fire Service organised a special Iftar fast-breaking banquet on Wednesday evening at its headquarters in Accra.
The event provided an opportunity for the Service’s Muslim personnel to observe the traditional breaking of the fast during the holy month of Ramadan.
The Iftar banquet was attended by several high-profile guests, including Zak Rahaman, the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) parliamentary candidate for the Ayawaso East Constituency, who chaired the event, and Mr. Ben Abdallah, representing Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

The event served as a testament to the Ghana Fire Service’s commitment to fostering an inclusive workplace environment that celebrates and respects the diverse religious beliefs of its personnel.
By hosting the Iftar banquet, the institution demonstrated its dedication to promoting religious tolerance and creating a sense of belonging for its Muslim members.
During the ceremony, Rahaman praised the Muslim firefighters for their unwavering devotion to both their faith and their duties, stating, “The dedication you show to upholding your religious beliefs while discharging your critical duties is truly commendable.”
Rahaman also acknowledged the vital role played by firefighters in ensuring the safety and well-being of Ghanaians, expressing gratitude for their selfless service.
“The nation relies on your bravery and expertise to protect lives and property, and we are indebted to your selfless service,” he remarked.

The Iftar banquet provided a platform for the Fire Service to celebrate the diverse religious backgrounds of its personnel and foster an environment of mutual understanding and respect.
By recognising and embracing the spiritual needs of its Muslim members, the institution aims to create a cohesive and supportive workplace that empowers individuals to thrive in their roles while upholding their religious practices.
