Kudus Mohammed talks tough in comparison with Neymar Jr

Ghana midfielder Kudus Mohammed has said he does not see Brazil superstar Neymar Jr as a better player than him, adding that the Brazilian is just relatively a “higher profile player.”

The Nima-born star is one of Ghana’s big stars going into the 2022 World Cup and believes he is equally talented as the PSG talisman.

His claim comes in reaction to his clash with Neymar when Ghana played Brazil in a pre-World Cup friendly in September, with the West African country losing by 3:0.

“He’s not better than me.” “He’s just a higher-profile player, that’s all,” the Ajax FC prodigy told Ghanaian journalist Gary Al-Smith in an interview.

He indicated that with hard work and determination, he would get to Neymar’s level soon.

“What makes him better, for now, is that he has achieved a lot, but I’ll get there soon,” he added.

The 3:0 loss to Brazil was a game in which Kudus Mohammed flourished in Ghana’s midfield, giving Neymar a huge run for his money.

And with Ghana coming up against Portugal, who boast of another world-class footballer in Cristiano Ronaldo, in the World Cup, Kudus Mohammed was asked about the team’s preparation in camp, to which he responded that

“We’ve not been great recently, but I know what I feel when I speak to the guys.” The spirit is really great, and this team will come together very soon. “Maybe not now, but very soon.”

Ghana will face Portugal in the first game of the 2022 World Cup at the Stadium 974 on Thursday, November 24, 2022.
