Goalkeeper Danlad Ibrahim set to depart for Abu Dhabi tonight after surprise Black Stars call up

Asante Kotoko’s reliable short stopper, Danlad Ibrahim has received a late call-up for Ghana’s World Cup party in Qatar, and he is all set to leave the country tonight for Ghana’s pre-World Cup camp in Abu Dhabi, the Zongo Mail can confirm.

Danlad had been excluded from Coach Otto Addo’s final 26-man squad, but following injuries to goalkeepers Joojo Wollacott and Richard Ofori over the weekend, Danlad was handed a late call up.

The Kotoko goalkeeper, who kept a clean sheet in his team’s 1:0 away win over Medeama in Tarkwa on Saturday, received the news on Sunday morning when his team was on its way back to Kumasi.

A special arrangement, was therefore, made for him to get to Kumasi on time to be able to catch a flight to Accra to start his travel arrangement to Abu Dhabi this evening.

The Zongo Mail can exclusively report that Danlad is already at the Kotoka International Airport, and he has almost completed departure formalities aboard Emirates Airline this evening.

Coach Otto Addo will announce his final 26-man squad for the World Cup on Monday, and with the latest developments, goalkeeper Danlad Ibrahim is all but confirmed.
