Inter Tribal Football Gala : Asante defeat Frafra to boost qualifications chance

Kotoko’s Dickson Afoakwa scored for struggling Asante to keep their faint hopes alive in the ongoing Inter Tribal Football Gala after beating Frafra 1-0 on Monday.

Afoakwa grabbed the match winner in the 40th minute at the Aboabo middle B Park.

After missing a lot of chances the Kotoko midfielder clinched a hero status after scoring from 30 yards to break the deadlock of the game.

Frafra came out of the dressing room for the second half an improved side and mounted a strong challenge but they lacked firepower.

Emmanuel Sarkodie came close to making it 2-0 for Asante, but his powerful shot missed the target.

Asante have now climbed to second position on the group standing with 4 points after 3 games.

They will be hoping Gurunshi/Sissala do them a favor by beating Mamprusi on Tuesday to stand the chance of going to the quarter final.
