Inter Tribal Football Gala : Asante shares spoils with Mamprusi in tournament opener

The opening game of the Tribal Football Gala between Asante and Mamprusi ended goalless in what was an exciting game.

Both teams exhibited impressive display but couldn’t find the back of the net.

In the first few minutes, the Asante created numerous chances but couldn’t find the breakthrough.

The Mamprusi decided to sit back on most occasions and hoping to catch their opponents on a counter-attack.

Asante nearly broke the deadlock in the 35th minute, but Enoch Morrison pass to Abedi at the far post was intercepted by Muniru.

Mamprusi came back from the break looking more likely to score.

Aboagye and Boban combined beautiful in the penalty box but Samuel Appiah did well to clear the ball on the line.

Boban came close again few minutes later but was denied by a wonderful goalkeeping by Courtois.

Both teams kept it tight untill the blast of the final whistle.

The game ended 0-0 both teams return to their home base to prepare for their next games.

Frafra will face Sissala/Gurunshi in the second game of Group A on Wednesday.
