The 4th scheduled flight carrying Ghanaian Hajj pilgrims to Tamale which was delayed last night, has now left Saudi Arabia this afternoon for the Northern Regional capital.
The 4th flight was scheduled to take off from Jeddah Jeddah yesterday with 492 Ghanaian Hajj pilgrims on board, but the flight was delayed, following what Immigration officials have exclusively revealed to The Zongo Mail was due to traffic congestion at the Jeddah International Airport.
There had been fears the delay was due to a technical hitch on the part of the carriers, FlyNas airline, but The Zongo Mail has gathered the delay was as a result of traffic congestion.
There were also fears the delay in yesterday’s flight schedule would most likely affect subsequent schedules to Ghana announced by the Hajj Board. However, the Board has allayed such fears and The Zongo Mail gathers that another flight would take off later tonight to make up for the list time.
Prior to yesterday’s delay, the Hajj Board had had an impressive record of smooth flight operation both from Ghana to Saudi Arabia as well as the return journey back to Ghana.
