The National Chief Imam, His Eminence Sheikh Osman Nubu Sharubutu has confirmed the sighting of the crescent, thus effectively bringing to an end the 2019 Ramadan on Monday evening.
Confirming the news in a broadcast, Sheikh Osman said the crescent has been sighted in Kumasi and Accra, and declared the the 3nd of Ramadan, meaning there will be no fasting tomorrow Tuesday June 4.
The Chief Imam, however, declared that the national celebration of Eid Fitr will be on Wednesday June 5, 2015, which has been declared a public holiday in Ghana.
Sheikh Osman took advantage of the broadcast to thank Allah for a successful Ramadan, and also wish Muslims barka da sallah.
