Saudi Embassy marks 88th National Day in Accra

The Saudi Arabian Embassy In has marked the 88th Saudi National Day at the Moèvenpick Hotel in Accra. 

The Saudi National Day, is celebrated every year on September 23 in Saudi Arabia and across the world by it’s Embassies.

The Accra event was attended by several dignitaries including a government delegation led by Minister for Inner Cities and Zongo Development, Dr. Mustapha Abdul Hamid.

Speaking at the event, Dr Abdul Hamid , on behalf of the government and people of Ghana, congratulated the Kingdom and people of Saudi Arabia on their anniversary on behalf 

“We are happy to be associated with this celebration, considering the fact that Saudi Arabia has remained a close friend of Ghana ever since our two countries established diplomatic relations in 196,” said Dr Abdul Hameed.

“Over the years, Ghana has benefited from its relations with Saudi Arabia in various areas such as energy generation, habour rehabilitation, the building of health facilities among others,” the Minister continued 

“The Kingdom has made in educational projects that directly target Moslem communities in Ghana and has been awarding scholarships through the Islamic Development bank to young Ghanaian Moslem students to undertake undergraduate courses in medicine,pharmacy, engineering and veterinary science in Saudi Arabia.”

Let me take take this opportunity to express sincere gratitude to the Government and people of Saudi Arabia for this support. 

The Minister assured Ghana will continue to work with the government and people of Saudi Arabia to strengthen the relations in order to speed up the well being and prosperity, particularly of Ghanaians. 

The Minister commended the embassy of Saudi Arabia for their assistance in the speedy processing of visas for Ghanaian Hajj pilgrims this year, as well as all courtesies the government extended to Ghanaian
