Many Communities have so far been beneficiaries, and the latest to benefit were some selected schools in the Agona Municipal area.

During her visit to the area to celebrate My First Day at School with some new entrants to schools, the Second Lady donated books and learning materials to pupils of five selected schools.

The Second Lady also used the opportunity to launch a new kindergarten in the area as part of government’s quest to facilitate the early enrollment of children in schools in deprived communities.

“Getting it right at the fundamental stage is crucial to a life of learning and skills acquisition. Let us invest in our young ones to ensure they gain necessary literacy skills,” Hajia Samira advised.

One of its core projects is the Library in a Box Project, which seeks to empower many underprivileged schools with lots of books stored in safe boxes as a stop-gap measure for students in rural areas to have access to more books and cultivate the habit of reading at an early age.
