Zongo and Inner-Cities Development Secretariat partners Iran Clinic to launch a Health outreach programme

The Inner-Cities Development Secretariat (ZICDS) has joined forces with the Iran Crescent Society and Iran Clinic to launch a groundbreaking health outreach programme aimed at providing essential medical care, health education, and support services to over 20,000 individuals living in these communities.
It follows a move to create a brighter, healthier future for those residing in inner-city and Zongo communities nationwide.
The lack of access to adequate healthcare has long been a concern for residents in inner-city and Zongo communities, as they have often struggled to provide essential medical services to their residents due to limited resources and infrastructure.
However, the partnership between ZICDS and the Iran Clinic seeks to address this pressing issue head-on.

Speaking at the event was the CEO of ZICDS, who said the partnership between ZICDS and the Iran Crescent Society—Iran Clinic showcases the power of collaboration in fostering positive change.
“By combining resources and expertise, they hope to create a sustainable programme that can serve as a model for similar initiatives across the country,” he said.
“The ultimate goal is to improve the overall health and well-being of disadvantaged communities while also reducing the burden on existing healthcare facilities.”
He said the Health Outreach Programme will consist of a team of medical professionals, including doctors, nurses, and volunteers, who will visit these communities regularly.
It will also take steps to provide much-needed medical care to the residents. Services include basic check-ups, vaccinations, and treatment for common ailments, while specialised clinics will cater to the specific health needs of women, children, and the elderly.

Recognising the importance of education in promoting overall well-being, the programme will also include health education sessions.
These sessions will cover a wide range of topics, such as hygiene practices, preventative measures against common diseases, and nutrition.
In attendance were the Minister for Public Enterprises and Member of Parliament for Effia Constituency, Hon. Joseph Cudjoe; the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Ghana, H.E. Bijan Germani Nazoksara; the Chairman of the Muslim Caucus in Parliament and Member of Parliament for Yendi Constituency, Hon. Faruk Aliu Mahama; the Member of Parliament for Ahafo Ano North, Hon.
