The Vice President, Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has paid a glowin tribute to the late Alhaji Rahimu Gbadamosi.
The respected educationist died on Saturday in Accra and the Vice President was among the scores of mourners who joined the pre-burial Islamic prayers on Saturday.
In a series of tweets on his official handle, Dr Bawumia expressed profound sadness over the passing of his former headmaster at Tamale Secondary School, whom he affectionately described as a “mentor and a father figure.”
‘It is with profound sadness that I have learnt about the passing away today of one of Ghana’s illustrious sons, Alhaji Rahimu Gbadamosi,” wrote the Vice President.
“He was my headmaster at Tamale Secondary School and later became the Director General of the Ghana Education Service. He was a mentor and a father to me and many others. He supported me immensely,” added the Vice President.
Dr Bawumia also eulogised the late Alhaji Gbadamosi for his honesty and discipline; traits the Vice President observed made so much positive impact on many lives.
‘He was very honest to the bone as well as a disciplinarian. He positively influenced a generation of students and we would forever be in his debt.”
Dr Bawumia prayed to the Almighty Allah to have mercy on Alhaji Gbadamosi and also grant him Jannatul Firdaus (Paradise).
