Ghana’s Future in Focus: Zongo Chiefs of Accra Unite in Special Prayers for Election 2024

The event commenced with a poignant recitation of the Quran, seamlessly transitioning into heartfelt prayers and supplications led by the esteemed National Chief Imam. This gathering united Zongo and tribal chiefs from across the Greater Accra Region, who collectively offered their prayers for national peace and unity.
In attendance were representatives from various security agencies, who provided invaluable guidance to the youth and shared critical insights regarding preparations for the upcoming elections. Political party representatives took the stage, fervently pledging their unwavering commitment to maintaining peace before, during, and after the electoral process.
The primary objective of this event was to foster harmony within Zongo communities, reminding the youth of their vital role as ambassadors of peace and seeking divine intervention for a seamless electoral experience. Prayers were fervently offered for presidential candidates, political parties, the Electoral Commission, security agencies, the media, and the nation as a whole.
In his compelling address, Naaba Sigiri, the Greater Accra Moshie Chief and General Secretary of the Greater Accra Council of Zongo Chiefs, underscored the paramount significance of prayer for political leaders. He unveiled the Council’s initiative to engage district-level Zongo chiefs throughout the region, encouraging collaborative efforts to promote peace within their communities. Naaba Sigiri passionately urged chiefs to embrace their roles as peace ambassadors, amplifying their voices during social and religious gatherings. Furthermore, he called upon the National Chief Imam to inspire Imams to deliver messages of peace in their sermons, enlightening the youth to reject violence and wholeheartedly embrace harmony.
