Coach Yussif Basigi leads Hasaacas Ladies to maiden Champions League final

Coach Yussif Basigi on Monday made history after guiding Hasaacas ladies to the Maiden Women’s Champions League Final.

His ladies beat Morocco’s ASFAR in the first semifinal of the day by two goals to one and will make a bigger when they clash with Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies in the Grand Finale on Friday

Doris Boaduwaa opened the scoring for the Ghanaian side before Najat Badri scored the equalizer for the Moroccan side.

Evelyn Badu converted Doris Boaduwaa’s cross into the back of the net with a powerful header to make it two.

The Ghanaian champions are hot favourites to win the competition following their breathtaking performances in the group stage.

They opened their account with a 3-1 win over Malabo King’s and scored three again in their second game against AS Mande.

Hasaacas Ladies scored two in their last game but wasn’t enough as they drew 2-2 with Wadi Delga, a result that confirmed their first position in the group.

The Ghanaians proved that winning WAFU-B qualifiers was not a coincidence, as they dominated Group A winning two games and drawing one to go on top.

Now Basigi has set a date in the Grand-Finale as his side eyes the maiden Women’s Champions League title against Mamelode Sundowns Ladies on Friday.
