Minister for Youth and Sports, Hon. Mustapha Ussif has assured the Black Galaxies of Government’s full support to ensure their qualification to the 2023 CHAN tournament.
He says the government is ready to support the team financially to help them qualify at the expense of Nigerian.
The Black Galaxies face the Super Eagles of Nigeria at Abuja on Sunday.
In a statement read on his behalf by the Chief Director at the Ministry, Alhaji M. Saani Adams, at a sports Summit organised by E-TV at the Swiss Alisa Hotel on Tuesday, Hon Ussif said all measures have been put in place to boot the team’s morale as they travel to Nigeria in qualification showdown.
“The country and government is committed in making sure that all the logistics and financial support that’s needed for the Black Galaxies to qualify for Algeria has been provided,” he said.
“Government is positioned to ensure that that’s done.”
Complains over Per diem and bonuses have for years become an issue in Ghana’s football history.
But according to the Sports Minister, the Galaxies should have no worry about their financial rewards as all have been taken care of.
Ghana have a two-goal advantage going into the return fixture at the Mashood Abiola stadium against Nigeria.
Afriyie Barnieh and Suraj Seidu’s strikes helped the Black Galaxies to win the first leg at the Cape coast stadium.
Ghana is poised to qualify for the CHAN in Algeria next year after missing the last three editions.
