
Accra Lions grabbed their third straight Victory in the Premier League as forward Shawkan Mohammed scored in the second half to defeat Dreams FC by 1-0 at the Dawu park.
A 77th minutes goal is all that Lions needed to realise their dream at the Theatre of Dreams .
Both teams started on a lower note, with no any explosive attacks made, as they only exchange passes among themselves in their own half.
The visitors however had their first attempt on the 9th minute after Baba Apiiga crafted in a decent cross to locate Frederick Asante in the box but goalkeeper Lord Bawa Martey came out to rescue the situation.
Black Galaxies forward Agyenim Boateng on the 22nd minute nipped on a goalkeeping error and nearly scored but his strike was cleared out just on the line.
The homesters came so close to scoring again after the tormentor Ali Huzaif jumped high to connect Mohammed Abubakar’s cross but his towering header was tipped off brilliantly by goalkeeper Owusu for a wasted corner kick.
Back from recess, once again both teams returned timidly with no any dangerous incursions made.
Dreams FC looked dominant, having much of the ball but always struggle to penetrate their way through the travellers backline.
And finally with just 13 minutes to full time, Accra Lions scored what looked like a very huge goal for them to go in front.
Mohammed found himself at the right place to slot home the match winner from a rebound after Substitute Youssouf Simpara’s strike had hit the woodwork his side the lead on the 77th minute.
The ‘Still Believe’ outfit tried as much as possible to get the equaliser in the last ten minutes but all proved futile.
Accra Lions leave Dawu with a huge three points to mark thier third consecutive victory after wins over Karela United and Tamale City.
