Sariki Alhaji Madingo inuagurated as the president of Supreme Council Ga-East Zongo and Tribal chiefs

Business mogul Alhaji Yussif Iddriss Madingo was on on Sunday 31st July, 2022, inaugurated as the president of Supreme Council of Ga-East Zongo and Tribal chiefs at a mamoth ceremony held at West Africa Senior High School at Adenta in the Ga East municipality.

It was an event that saw one of the biggest gathering in the area, as Chiefs, religious leaders, Government officials politicians and other Zongo greates graced the occasion.

Sariki Madingo is the chief of the Municipal capital Pantang Abokobi Zongo, now heads the Eleven-member powerful council.

The president Madingo is a celebrated real estate developer, philanthropist and a humanitarian,  who has contributed in shaping the lives of many in the Zongo not just in Ga-East area but across the country.

He has built mosque, schools and housing for the needy in his community.The Supreme Council of Ga- East Zongo and Tribal Chiefs was formed to create unity, love, develop human resource among people of the Zongo  municipality.

The council believes the zongo communities in Ghana can do better if the leadership come together to form an alliance to speed up the developmental drive for zongo people.

It is made up of chiefs various communities such as Dome, Madina, Taifa, Ashongman, Boi, Ayi Mensa, Bansa, Haatso, Kwabenya, Oyarifa and Pantang-Abokobi.

Present at the inauguration ceremony was the national chief imam Dr Sheikh Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu, who was the Special Guest of honour.

The national Chief Imam admonished the gathering to continue working together to maintain the peace in the country.

“For us to attain progress, this is the kind of dialogue we need to help prevent evil that will come to us and also attract good things for our country,” he said.

He described the peace being enjoyed in the country as a favour from God and said it behoved every citizen, irrespective of his or her religious inclination, to work towards sustaining the gains made so far by living peacefully with one another.

According to Sheikh Sharubutu, tolerating one another was one of the ways of preventing “evil in our respective communities for accelerated development”.

Other dignitaries who made it to the event include  former RT. honourable speaker of parliament, Prof. Mike Oquaye Senier, MCE of Adenta Municipal Assembly, MP for Ayawaso North Constuency Yussif Jaja.

The former RT. honourably speaker of parliament, Prof. Mike Oquaye Senier also touched on the unity, develop and contribution of muslims in shaping the country Ghana. He also praise government free SHS policy and urged parents to enrol their children in school.
