Black Stars coach Otto Addo has dropped Anderlecht’s Majeed Ashimeru from Ghana’s final squad for the FIFA World Cup.
Coach Addo is reported to have named his final 26-man squad, which excluded the former WAFA star.
Ashimeru was initially named in the provisional 55-man list, but now his dream of featuring on the biggest stage of football has been curtailed.
It is reported that coach Addo, who has yet to publicly announce the final 26-man squad, informed the player about the news.
The 25-year-old has featured 11 times and has scored two goals and provided two assists for RSC Anderlecht in the Belgian Pro Jupiler League.
Ghana will start camping in Abu Dhabi on November 10th, ahead of the main tournament in Qatar.
The Black Stars are in Group H with Portugal, South Korea Republic, and Uruguay, respectively.
