Nigeria-based Karifest Awards has honoured the Chairman of Afro Arab Group, Alhaji Abdul Salamu Amadu with the prestgious Karifest award for youth empowerment and community development.
Alhaji Amadu Salamu, known for his philanthropic gestures within the Zongo communities as well as his support for the youth, was presented with the award during the 2018 edition held recently at the Sheraton Hotel in Abuja.
The Karifest Award was established in 2013 to honour outstanding Africans from various spheres of life, and according to the organizers, Karifest Group, it is an annual award which recognizes, refreshes, inspires, rewards hardwork and celebrate exceptionally talented youth, seasoned professionals and advocates of positive change.
It is not a surprise that Alhaji Amadu was chosen among other outstanding Africans for the 2018 list of recipients as his credentials fit into the description of the award criteria.
At his youthful age, Alhaji Amadu is already an astute entrepreneur in the financial sector, real estate, sports among other fields.
As a believer of empowering the youth, the Afro Arab Group boss has offered employment to many youth through his businesses, and also continues to offer support to start up businesses by young people who show spirit of entrepreneurship.
The Karifest Award is the latest award to be won by Alhaji Amadu. He was recently honoured as sports personality of the year by the 40 Under 40 awards for his outstanding contribution to sports development within the Zongo community and the nation at large
