Inter Tribal Football Gala : Hausa beat Zabarma on penalties to reach final

Hausa won a tensed penalty shoot out against Zabarma to progress to the final of the Inter Tribal Football Gala.

Soulama saved two penalties to propel Hausa to the grand finale.

Zabarma were first to threaten when Zaidan tested Soulama in the 17th-minute.

However, the Hausas responded as the half-time whistle approached when Shittu forced Joma into a 39th-minute save.

Early in the second half, Hausa’s Umar Mohammed fired wastefully over from Jafar’s square ball and Jafar saw his deflected cross scrambled away by Zabarma defense.

Hausa kept on probing for the winner but couldn’t break the resolute zabarma defense.

A series of Hausa set-pieces came to nothing and in the second period die embers, with fatigue setting in, chances were again in short supply as penalties loomed.

The full-time whistle came at the ideal time for Zabarma, with Hausa momentum slowed by the break in play.

Penalties proved the only way to separate them and Hausa held their nerve to secure a 6-5.

Chibsah of Zabarma was awarded man of the match despite his team defeat.

Hausa will face Wangara in grand finale on Saturday.
