Television host and Islamic Islamic Cleric, Imam Abass Abdul Karim, has advised Muslim youth to take advantage of the latest covid-19 restrictions and cut down cost of marriage ceremonies to save money.
President Akufo-Addo on Sunday evening announced new restrictions on social gathering, including marriage ceremonies, following recent spike in Coronavirus cases in the country.

In a swift write up on his Facebook page following the President’s address, the Deputy Imam at the Ghana Police Mosque opined that the restrictions will help address excessive ceremonies in Zongos.
“Restrictions will reduce wastage in our Zongo marriages,” Imam Abass wrote.
He added: “take advantage (and) marry after Khutba on Friday and save your money.”
The spate of costly marriage ceremonies in Zongo communities have been under the radar, with critics of such flamboyant ceremonies opining that they have become big hindrance to many young couple who wants to marry because they cannot afford.
