Pastors join Dr. Bawumia to Mosque to interact with Muslims 

The on-going national Ramadan Tour by Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia recorded a beautiful spectre on Sunday when some Christian leaders joined him to interact with his fellow Muslims in the newly created Ahafo Region.

Dr. Bawumia is on the third-leg of his 2019 nationwide Ramadan tour and during his visit to the Kukuom Central Mosque to interact with his fellow Muslims, he was joined by somes Christian leaders who were led by the Resident Pastor of the Kukuom Methodist Church, Most Rev. John Peprah, who is also the Chairman of Association of Churches.
Dr. Bawumia was impressed by the Pastor’s gesture, saying it signifies the cordial relationship which exists between Muslims and Christians in the country, and urged members of the two religions to continue to protect the harmonious relationship.

“This gesture signifies the unique peace, religious tolerance and harmonious traits we possess as a country. We cherish this and must protect the peace and unity we enjoy,” said Dr. Bawumia.

Dr. Bawumia also joined fellow Muslim faithfuls in Goaso and Duayaw Nkwanta to pray with them.

Prior to visiting the three respective Zongo communities in the Ahafo Region, the Vice President paid homage to three Paramount Chiefs of the areas he visited namely; Osahene Kwaku Aterkyi II (Paramount Chief of Kukuom), Nana Kwasi Bosomprah I (Paramount Chief of Goaso), and Nana Boakye Tromo III (Paramount Chief of Duayaw Nkwanta).

Dr. Bawumia started the third phase of his 2019 Ramadan tour on Saturday with a visit to the Upper East Region, where he paid courtesy calls on traditional leaders, as well as interacted with Zongo communities.

He called on the traditional leaders of Tempane & Paga and also joined the Muslim Ummah in Tempane, Garu and Paga central mosques for prayers..

The Vice President used the occasion of his tour in the Upper East Region to appeal to the people of Chereponi to give peace a chance, by coming together to fight a common enemy, poverty, and not themselves.

We are really all one. Whether you are Konkomba, Mamprusi, Chokosi, we are one people. Our only enemy is poverty so let us fight poverty and not each other,” Dr. Bawumia appealed.
