“And we also know that the road to where we want to go will  be rough and muddy, but because we are very determined, we know we shall get there.”

It featured an array of thought-provoking presentations, panel discussions, and workshops led by renowned scholars and experts in the field.

Prior to the moment of singing, Hon. Jajah had charged all regional steering committees to organise their respective conferences before the National Conference next year, assuring them of budgetary support from the national board.

“It is imperative that our regional steering committees  organise their respective conferences before our next annual conference,” he said.

“Insha Allah, with the NMC at the headquarters, we should be able to support to see the success of such a programme.

“As we conclude this conference, let us carry forward the spirit of unity, which is very very important, collaborations and actions, our collective efforts can bring about positive change, promote religious freedom, and protect the rights of Muslims in Ghana”.

The National Muslim Conference was established in 2021 under a deed signed by the National Leaders of all the Muslim groups in Ghana, namely, Ahmadiyya, Tijania, Ahlu Sunnah, and Shia, as well as the Ghana Muslim Mission and the Muslim Caucus of Parliament, as a platform for dialogue, education, and collaboration among the Muslim community.

It also serves as the mouthpiece of all Muslims on matters of mutual concern and as a forum to deliberate on national policies and programmes.

It was also to offer opportunities for Muslims to participate in the legislative process through the submission of memoranda to committees of parliament when bills are considered, as well as to represent Muslims in seeking redress in the courts of the land on matters affecting the legal and fundamental rights of Muslims in Ghana.

Held at the National Mosque in Accra, one of the key objectives of this year’s conference was to shed light on the challenges faced by Muslims in exercising their religious rights and freedoms while also recognising the efforts made by the government and civil society organisations in promoting inclusivity and religious tolerance in Ghana.

The 3rd Annual Muslims Conference concluded successfully, with organisers highlighting it as the largest so far in its three years of existence.
