- The Vice President, Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia this afternoon joined the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu and fellow Muslims at the Central Mosque in Abossey Okai to thank Allah for His blessings on the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu.
The National Chief Imam turns 100 years on Tuesday April 23, and thanksgiving prayers after the Jummah prayers marked the beginning of programs to commemorate his 100th birthday anniversary.
On the morning of his birthday, a public lecture will be held in his honour in Accra and the keynote speaker will be Dr. Mohammed Ibn. Chambas, United Nations General Secretary Special Representative for West Africa and the Sahel.
He will speak on theme: advancement of modern Ghanaian society through peace, tolerance and development.
The special guests for the lecture will be Vice President Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
