Kudus Mohammed scores a spectacular curler in Super Cup defeat to PSV

Kudus Mohammed was on target for Ajax Amsterdam in a 5-3 loss to PSV Einhoven in the Dutch Super Cup on Saturday.

It was a spectacular curler from the attacking midfielder, registering his name in the 8-goal thriller.

The Nima-born star came on as a second half substitute to score for AFC Ajax but was not enough as the Eredivise Champions missed out on the Dutch Super Cup at the Johan Cruyff Arena.

Ajax poked their noses infront through Steven Bergwijn in the 15th minute but Eindhoven responded swiftly with two goals from Guus Till in the 32nd minute and added the second in the 45th minute respectively.

Back from recess, Manchester United target, Antony Dos Santos leveled matters for Ajax in the 54th minute to make it two all.

Cody Gakpo restored PSV’s lead before Till marked his hat-trick on the 69th minute.

Replacing Dutch international, Steven Berghuis in the 63rd minute, Kudus announced his presence with a beauty of a goal in the 72nd minute, the swift attacking midfielder curled one with a low carpet drive to make it 4-3 in favour of PSV.

Notwithstanding, his decent strike wasn’t enough as youngster Xavi Simons who joined from Paris Saint Germain placed the icing on the cake with the fifth strike to seal a comfortable win for PSV.

Kudus has notched three goals for Ajax in four pre-season games and will be hoping to continue with his fine form when the 2022-2023 Eredivise kicks start in August
