The National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu has led by example by planting on the premises of the new National Mosque at Kanda on Green Ghana Day.
The Green Ghana Day initiative, is a government initiative to improve the environment by planting 5 million trees.
Members of the public are being encouraged to participate, and officials recently called on the National Chief Imam to inform him about the project.
He pledged his support and personally planting the tree, which is considered one of the noblest humanitarian gestures in Islam, affirms his support.
