Ibrahim Danlad: Asante Kotoko Goalkeeper loses his ‘impacful’ dad

Asante Kotoko Goalkeeper Ibrahim Danlad has announced the passing away of his father at the early hours of Friday.

The national goalkeeper learnt of his father’s death while at camp with the Black Mateors, he says.

The 20-year old took to social media to announce the death of his father while thanking him for the impact on his career.

“Lost my father this morning but am grateful for his impact on my progress,” Danladi said in a tweet.

“I wish him well yet that is how God structured the World. We all have a place to go.”

The Kotoko goalkeeper is currently at the Black Mateors camp after guarding the post for the qualification of the Black Galaxies to the 2023 Chan Tournament.

He had just visited his dad a day before arriving at the Mateors camp.

“I arrived at the national U23 camp just yesterday and I even called him (his father) and told him I have arrived safely,” he said.

“This morning we had just finished training and I got a call from home that my father has passed away. ”

The cause of the death is not yet known, but according to reports, the father will be buried on Friday afternoon according to Islamic tradition.
