History: Fatawu Mohammed leads Hearts of Oak to win second successive FA Cup

Skipper Fatawu Mohammed got his name in the history books of Accra Hearts of Oak after leading the club to it’s second successive FA Cup glory in a year.
The Phobians on Sunday grabbed their 12th FA Cup after beating Bechem United 2-1 at the Grand Finale played at the Baba Yara Stadium.
After losing the league title to perennial rivals Asante Kotoko, the Phobians were left with just the FA Cup to defend, and they did in style after coming from a goal down to snatch the ultimate.
A goal each from Caleb Amankwah and Daniel Afriyie Barnieh ensured the Phobians ended the 2021/22 season with a silverware.
Having joined the Phobians in the 2014/15 season, Fatawu played his 3rd FA Cup finals, winning two under Coach Samuel Boadu.
He was part of the Phobians squad that painfully lost 3-1 to Kotoko in the 2017 in Tamale.
Under Coach Boadu last season, the rainbow boys won treble to end 9 seasons of no trophy.
The glory puts Fatawus name among history makers at the camp of the record holders of the FA Cup.
