Mamobi Incident: Police Take Action to Restore Peace After Clashes between political supporters.

In a crucial step towards restoring calm in Mamobi, Accra, the Ghana Police Service has arrested Fatawu Ibrahim, also known as Fatau Motorway, in connection with the violent clashes that erupted on October 13, 2024, between supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Ibrahim was on the run after being captured on video brandishing a firearm during the unrest. His evasion led the police to offer a ¢20,000 reward for his capture, but he is now safely in custody.
The clashes resulted in two individuals being shot and injured, with a total of nine people suffering various injuries. Authorities acted quickly to restore order, and prior to Ibrahim’s arrest, another suspect had already been taken into custody.
As investigations progress, police have confirmed that Ibrahim will soon face charges in court. They have reassured the community of their commitment to maintaining peace and order, stating that anyone involved in the violence will be dealt with firmly under the law.
