Ghana’s head coach Otto Addo has announced a 23-man squad for the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Angola and Niger.
The Black Stars, who last played in June, securing victories against Mali and the Central African Republic in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, are set to begin their AFCON qualifying campaign next month.
Players are expected to report by Monday, 2 September 2024, to start preparations for the matches scheduled for 5 September in Kumasi at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium and 10 September in Berkane.
Addo’s selection largely maintains the core group of players, with no major surprises. Key figures such as Thomas Partey, Kudus Mohammed, Jordan Ayew, Lawrence Ati-Zigi, and Abdul Fatawu Issahaku have all been retained.
The squad sees the return of Kingsley Schindler, Inaki Williams and Majeed Ashimeru, who missed the previous set of games. Frederick Asare of Asante Kotoko is the sole home-based player included in the squad.
