
Two-time champions Ashaiman will clash with Anyaa Zongo in the grand finale of the 9th edition of the Sheikh Shaributu Ramadan Cup on Saturday, April 27, at 3:00 pm at the Fadama Astro Turf.
Ashaiman, seeking to lift their third trophy, will face off against Anyaa Zongo, who are making their first-ever appearance in the final. The competition, which started in 2015, has grown in popularity, and this year’s edition has been the most thrilling so far.
The games that were to be played on Sunday, April 21st, have been rescheduled to Sunday, April 28 in a bid to host an exciting closure to the tournament, which has been the climax of the Eid-Ul Fitr.
In the first semi-final match, Ashaiman played out a goalless draw with Oda Zongo, but won 3-2 in penalties as Anyaa Zongo won 7-6 in penalties after a goalless draw with Fadama.
The two lost semi-finalists will face off in the third place match on Saturday at 1:00 pm, while Ashaiman and Anyaa Zongo battle it out for the top prize at 3:00 pm.
Both matches will feature the standard 45 minutes of play for each half, upgrading from the usual 20 minutes per half format used in the previous matches.
This change is expected to add an extra layer of excitement to the already highly anticipated matches.

A musical bash featuring some of Ghana’s top artists is scheduled to take place during the halftime break of the final match. Fans will be treated to thrilling performances by renowned musicians, adding to the electric atmosphere at the Fadama Astro Turf.
The Sheikh Shaributu Ramadan Cup is played in honor of the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, who has been a pillar of support for the tournament since its inception.
In a special gesture, the National Chief Imam will present the trophy to the winning team, making the occasion even more special for the players and fans.
With the extended date, fans are expected to come out in their numbers to support their teams and enjoy the festivities.
