Black Stars midfielder Salis Abdul Samad on Thursday paid a courtesy call on the CEO of the National Petroleum Authority, Dr Mustapha Abdul Hamid, presenting a jersey to the top football enthusiast at his office in Accra.
It comes just a week after the Black Stars’ exit from the World Cup, where the midfielder won the hearts of Ghanaians with his combative play.
Accompanied by his family and friends, the hardworking midfielder received the warmest of welcomes from Dr. Hamid amid congratulatory messages and words of encouragement.
The relationship between the two is unknown, but Dr. Mustapha Hamid is known as a football enthusiast and philanthropist to many Zongo youth.
He is also an ardent follower of the Ghana Premier League and is normally seen at the Accra Sports Stadium anytime Accra Hearts of Oak are in action.

Hence, Salis’ visit to the former UCC lecturer may not come as a surprise to many.
The Madina Zongo star Abdul Samed plays for Lens and has taken part in every one of the side’s 15 Ligue 1 games in 2022/2023, starting in all 15.
He was among the new players invited to the team by Coach Otto Addo after Ghana’s return to the Mundial.
Salis started in all three group matches Ghana played, partnering Thomas Partey in central midfield as Ghana won one and lost two of the Group H encounters.
Ghana, however, presented one of the youngest squads at the 2022 World Cup, and Salis, 22, is tipped by connoisseurs of the game to be among the players on whose shoulders the Black Star could lean.
