Bernard Cofie: Former King Faisal star wins goal king of African Games Zongo Football Competition
Accra New Town’s Bernard Cofie emerged the goal king of the African Games Zongo Football Competition after netting four goals.
Cofie became the revelation the tournament after leading his New Town side to win the the novelty competition established to sensitise the Muslim and Zongo community about the 13th African Games.

The New Town Youth offensive midfielder hit a stunning hat-trick in the final against Nima to take his tally to 4 in the competition.
Cofie, 30, was on the score sheet on Saturday against Madina and also set up the match-winner.
With his Premier League experience, it was the former King Faisal right back who added more excitement to the community-based competition,
Cofie featured for Accra Hearts of Oak in the 2009/10 GHALCA Top 4 under Coach Nii Noi Thompson, before joining King Faisal for Premier League competition that same season.
The competition heralds the start of a series of frontrunner events organised by the LOC to improve sensitisation ahead of the August 2023 Games.
