Owner of Zuria FM Alhaji Abubakar Haruna reported dead

CEO of Kumasi-based Zuria FM Alhaji Abubakar Haruna has been reported dead in the early  hours of Thursday.

The cause of his death is not immediately known but a statement issued on Social Media page of the station indicate the business mogul breathed his last surrounded by his family.

“With enormous pains, Zuria 88.7 informs the public the passing of its CEO Alhaji Abubakar Haruna, it said.

“Alhaji Abubakar Haruna, breathed his last at the early hours of today surrounded by his family.

“During his life, Alhaji Abubakar Haruna was a UK Trained Certified Pharmacist and Health Practitioner. He was also, an astute entrepreneur, and CEO of Mogonowriah Group of Companies.

“The family and Zuria FM enquiries utmost privacy at this trying moment,” the statement added.

Alhaji Abubakar Haruna is a great Zongo man,  who pioneered the establishment of radio stations in the Zongos.

He established Zuria FM in the year 2003, which remains one of the top most FM stations in the country.

He contributed to the development of Zongo by allotting to various muslim preachers to preach in their local dialects.

He will be buried in few hours on the same day in accordance to islamic tradition, report indicates.
