Inter Tribal Football Gala: DagomPostba off to a flying start with a win against Fulani

Dagomba stake their claim against Fulani in the much talked Group C encounter on Saturday.

A nice first half strike from Babamu and brilliant strike from RTU midfielder Huda Issah in the second half ensured the Dagomba’s got off to a winning start in the Inter Tribal Football Gala.

Dagomba got off to a great start and should have been up in the early minutes after Baba Yahaya sent in a teasing crossing, but Mubarik failed to connect from close range.

Few minutes later, Fulani also tested the Dagomba keeper but Kepa was up to the task.

Just after the hour mark, Babamu broke the deadlock after the keeper failed to grab a shot from Huda Issah.

Fulani responded very well after going down but couldn’t breach the organized Dagomba defense.

The Fulanis returned from the break strongly as they chased the equalizer, with Mujeeb meeting a Verrati cross which nearly beat Kepa.

Dagomba goalkeeper Kepa was up to the task on the day producing one of the best performance in the tournament.

Dagomba added the second against the run of play with a brilliant finish from Huda Issah, the midfielder blasted a shot from 30 yards to put the game to bed for the Dagomba’s.

It was a comfortable win for the Northerners who were on top of their game on the day.

The other group C game will see Kotokoli face Zabarma on Monday.
