Muniru Sulley: Midfielder retires from football at 29

Former Asante Kotoko midfielder Muniru Sulley has “with great joy and sadness” announced his retirement from active football at age 29, ending a journey that spanned a little over 10 years.
The decision is born out some “medical development”, the former National under 15 star officially says.
The younger brother of former UEFA Champions League winner, Sulley Aliu Muntari, In a communique released said he will focus off the pitch by nurturing the next generation of talents through his new football aganecy (4fk Agency).
The midfielder began with Liberty Professionals before securing a move to Europe in 2013 and played for Romanian club CFR Cluj from 2013-2015.
He also lined up for clubs in Portuguese, Turkish and Russian top-flight before returning to the Ghana Premier League in 2020 to join Asante Kotoko.
In 2021, he signed for FC Minsk on a free transfer and made 21 appearances for the club last season, scoring two goals.
