Honourable Zak Rahman donates 10,000 GHS cash to NPP polling station agents as he ends voter registration centers tour

Aspiring candidate in the upcoming NPP Parliamentary primaries for the Ayawaso East Constituency, Honourable Zak Rahman, has completed his extensive tour of voter registration centres with generosity, donating a cash amount of 10,000 GHS to polling station agents of the New Patriotic Party.

This act of appreciation followed Rahman’s earlier support, where he supplied agents with 70 boxes of cooked rice daily and made cash contributions on two separate occasions.

Since the beginning of the limited registration exercise, Honourable Rahman has been one of the busiest in the Ayawaso East constituency, going on daily monitoring to ensure things go smoothly for all.

Throughout the 21-day exercise, the Honourable Zak Rahman tirelessly visited polling stations across the constituency, interacting with election officials and witnessing the vital democratic process firsthand.

He had personally sponsored the busing of people to the centres to ensure not every person eligible to vote in the constituency gets registered.

The limited voter registration exercise by the Electoral Commission (EC) ended effective on Monday, October 2, across all 268 district offices of the commission.

Inspired by the dedication and hard work displayed by the polling station agents, Rahman deemed it essential to acknowledge their efforts and show gratitude for their tireless service to the party.

The initial assistance provided by Rahman in the form of 70 boxes of cooked rice per day was aimed at ensuring that the polling station agents had sustenance while carrying out their duties. Recognising the long hours they spent attending to voters’ needs, Rahman believed that providing nourishing meals would energise the agents and allow them to fulfil their responsibilities more effectively.

Moreover, Rahman had previously made two cash donations to the agents, demonstrating his commitment to supporting their welfare and recognising their invaluable contribution to the electoral process. The cash contributions were intended to provide immediate aid and alleviate any financial burdens the agents might face throughout the registration period.

Monday’s tour by Honourable Rahman comes few days after joining the Vice President to undertake similar exercise across the Greater Accra Region.

As the voter registration centre tour came to an end, the Honourable Zak Rahman thanked the polling station agents for their unwavering commitment and dedication to ensuring free and fair elections. During a heartfelt speech, Rahman emphasised the role they played in upholding Ghana’s democratic principles and expressed his admiration for their resilience and professionalism.

The 10,000 GHC donation presented by Rahman aimed to not only acknowledge the agents’ hard work but also support their personal endeavors. It is hoped that this financial assistance will contribute to their overall well-being and serve as an encouragement for their continued involvement in future electoral processes.

The Honourable Zak Rahman’s commitment to empowering grassroots democracy and uplifting those involved in the electoral process resonated strongly with both the polling station agents and the wider community. His actions stand as a testament to the importance of recognising the efforts of those who are instrumental in shaping the nation’s democratic future.

He is one of two people contesting the NPP parliamentary primaries to be held in February next year to select a candidate to represent the party for Ayawaso East in the December 2024 elections.

As the political landscape evolves, Honourable Zak Rahman’s ongoing dedication to supporting the polling station agents serves as an example of the positive impact politicians can have when they prioritise the well-being of the constituents they represent. His philanthropy and encouragement have left an indelible mark on the hearts of both the beneficiaries and the community at large.
