Sule Muntari marks Hearts of Oak debut in Mantse Derby defeat
Former Black Stat midfielder Sule Muntari made his 2021/22 league debut for Accra Hearts of Oak on Sunday in their 1-0 defeat to city rivals Accra Great Olympics in the Mantse Derby at the Accra Sports Stadium..
It comes just five days after the UEFA Champions league winner signed one year deal with Ghanaian Champions in a huge career relaunch.
The Phobians lost courtesy a 30th minutes goal from Yussif Razak to secure maximum points for Olympics and move them to fifth on the league log.
Muntari however made a lively cameo for Hearts as they pushed men forward to rescue a point from the game.
The former Inter Milan midfielder was introduced to a standing ovation as he made his first appearance for the club.
His debut was however marred by a defeat to Hearts as they lost more grounds on their title defense.
The Phobians sit 7th on the table- 10 points behind sworn rivals Kotoko who could extend the lead to 13 points when they play against Elmina Sharks later today.
