I own the number one micro finance in Ghana- Abedi Pele

African and Ghanaian football legend, Abedi Pele says he owns Izwe savings and loans company limited and it is the number one mincro finance company in the country.

The ‘maestro’ has kept the news secret from the public although the companies headquarters is located in his Maestro Plaza at Kotobabi in Accra.

“I have been in the country working very hard, I have a microfinance company which is very huge and number one in the country called Izwe Loans,” said Abedi Pele.

The three time African Footballer of the year said his decision to set up a microfinance business was to cushion the burden on the ordinary Ghanaian, when he spoke to the French ambassador to Ghana, Anne Sophie Avé.

“I have done so many things but my character is very calm, I am always in the dark and I believe in that,” he said.

“We give loans to teachers, military, police to support them in their daily lives. They have to send their children to school and so we give them these loans to manage and buy things for their children,” he continued.
