The first batch of Ghanaian Hajj pilgrims are expected to arrive home this evening after completing their Hajj rituals a couple of days ago.
The first batch of 492 pilgrims are expected arrive at the Tamale Airport Monday night at 11 p.m., to begin a process of bringing back home Ghanaian pilgrims.
The first batch of pilgrims, all of whom from the northern part of the country successfully checked in their luggage last night and they are all set to emplane to Ghana.
According to the Hajj Board, six flights are scheduled to arrive at the Tamale Airport to bring back pilgrims from the Northern part of the country before the flights in Accra start arriving on Saturday August 31.
Meanwhile, in a bid to ensure a successful process for the journey back home, the leadership of the Hajj Board has met the leadership of the Hajj Agents Association twice to agree on modalities and arrangements put in place by the board to ensure smooth departure.
During the meeting, the Chairman of the Ghana Hajj Board, Sheikh I.C. Quaye, encouraged members of the Ghana Hajj Agents Association to collaborate purposefully with the Hajj Board to ensure incident-free departure to Ghana.
Members of the board commended the activities of the Ghana Agents Association and urged them to rally behind the Board by giving pilgrims and their respective clients first hand information on all necessary arrangements put in place for the journey back home.
