The Second Lady, Hajia Samira Bawumia has commended the effort of Zongo women in maintaining peaceful coexistence in various Zongo communities across the country.
Addressing scores of Muslim and Zongo women in Kumasi at the Zongo Women Empowerment Programme, the Second Lady also encouraged them to continue with their positive roles within their respective communities.
Hajia Samira also reiterated government’s resolve in transforming Zongos through the establishment of the Ministry for Inner Cities and Zongo Development and the Zongo Development Fund.
She urged the women to take advantage of opportunities presented and build their capacities to enable them contribute to their communities and ultimately nation-buiding.
The program was organised by Zongo Queen Mothers and Zongo Development Network in Kumasi.
