National Chief Imam to commemorate Maulid Nabi on December 8

The National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu will mark this year’s Maulid Nabi on Saturday December 8, 2018, The Zongo Mail can confirm.

The ceremony, a commemoration of the birth of the Prophet Muhammad SAW, will take place at its traditional venue; the New Fadama School Park in Accra, which is very close to the residence of the National Chief Imam.

The National Chief Imam has been commemorating the birth of the Prophet Muhammad for over fifty (50) years, and one of the significance of the commemoration of the Maulid is that it serves as a reminder to Moslems to continuously emulate the exemplary lifestyle of the Prophet Muhammad.

The grand event at Fadama brings together Moslem leaders and clerics from Ghana and abroad, as well as Moslems from all corners of the country, top government officials, politicians from the various political divide and leaders of other religions.
